Sheriff's Emergency Response Team

Mission Statement

The Lewis County Sheriff's Office maintains a group of specially trained and equipped deputies that are able to operate in a variety of tactical environments. SWAT exists to minimize danger to the public and other law enforcement officers by responding to situations which exceed the capabilities and/or resources of a standard law enforcement response. The team is supervised by Sergeant Rob Snaza.

Goal

To provide a tactical response team capable of rapid deployment within 30 minutes of request, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Team Members

SWAT is comprised of the following team members:

  • Team Commander
  • Team Leaders
  • Operator Specialists
  • Crisis Negotiators
  • Reconnaissance/Precision Marksmen.

Each team member is a graduate from the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission SWAT school and performs regularly scheduled monthly training.
