Food Worker Classes

The Washington State Food Worker Card is required for all food service employees. The Food Worker Class covers the basic food safety information from the Food Code that every food worker needs to know before working with food that is served to the public.

When and Where

Beginning April 3, 2012, food worker classes will be held in the conference room on the 2nd floor of the Lewis County Public Health Building (360 NW North Street, Chehalis) Tuesday mornings at 9:00 am and the first Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm. Click here for more details.

Study guides are available on the third floor of the Public Health Building for $2.00 or on the DOH Website

Initial Food Worker cards are good for two years, while renewals are good for three years. To qualify for a renewal card, you must take the class before your current card expires.

Five year cards are available for those who have taken an approved advanced food safety class such as ServeSafe. Call (360) 740-1222 for more information.
