E-cycle Washington
The Electronics Law in Washington State provides FREE recycling of televisions, computers (towers), computer monitors and laptops. This service is available to residents of Washington, small businesses and schools.
Items not accepted for recycling include: mice, keyboards, copies, printers, scanners, fax machines, all other electronics, electrical equipment and appliances.
Lewis County has two drop off location:
- The Goodwill Store located at 519 Harrison Avenue in Centralia. Call 360-736-3828 for more information and hours of operation

For more information visit the website or call 1-800-recycle It’s hard to believe, but the E-Cycle Washington program has now completed two years of operations and recycled over 78 million pounds of electronics. Total collections in 2010 were 39.5 million pounds, just barely edging out the 38.5 million pounds collected in 2009. Below is a year-to-year comparison by product category.

Ecology would like to thank – and congratulate – all the service providers in the E-Cycle Washington program and especially the citizens of Washington State who have recycled 5.8 lbs of electronics per capita over the last two years. Together we’re proving that the program tag line, “Small effort – Big return” is true.
Solid Waste Transfer Stations
Lewis County accepts certain electronics for recycling as part of the Utility's one-stop full service operation. Electronics are accepted at the Central Transfer Station in Centralia and the East Lewis County Transfer Station in Morton. This is not a free program. The following fees apply:
- Televisions: $8.00 each
- Computer Monitors: $8.00 each
- Laptops: $8.00 each
- Towers: $2.00 each
- Note: miscellaneous electronics are disposed of in the garbage. Please do not leave the following items in the recycling area: mice, keyboards, copies, printers, scanners, fax machines, cell phones, portable electronic devices, stereos, DVD and VHS players, cable boxes. Garbage rate is $82.00 per ton with a $10.00 minimum charge
Items not accepted for recycling include electrical equipment and appliances.
