About the Coroner
Warren McLeod has been the Lewis County Coroner since January 1, 2011. The Coroner is a half-time position and Warren is also the Forensics Professor at South Puget Sound Community College. Warren worked ambulance as an EMT for sixteen years in Boston, MA where he was born and raised. In 1995 he moved to Las Vegas and worked for three years in casinos as an EMT. In 1998 he began working as an Investigator with the Clark County Coroner/Medical Examiner's Office in Las Vegas. This office covered 8, 000 square miles and during his 10 years eight months tenure Warren handled over 5, 000 death investigations. He has lived in Lewis County (Chehalis) since December 2008.
Warren earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from College of Southern Nevada, a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from University of Nevada at Las Vegas, a Masters Degree in Justice Administration from Norwich University anda Master's Degree in Political Science from American Military University.
Warren is a nationally registered death investigator through the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators (ABMDI) and has attended hundreds of hours of training covering death investigation in all types of deaths.
Warren is committed to devloping a trust with the community and hasa new mission and visions for the office.

The Lewis County Coroner’s Office determines the cause and manner of reported deaths by conducting professional medicolegal death investigations while ensuring that everyone who has suffered a loss is treated with dignity, respect and compassion. The Lewis County Coroner’s Office is dedicated to improving the professional development of all staff through continued training while working collaboratively with the community to identify and proactively respond to issues and concerns related to death investigations.
